What is your favorite family vacation? In the early days of adMind we got a request from a small vacation rental site that was more ‘google support line’ than analytics consulting. We talked her through a quick, easy fix. She was so moved that in return she arranged a weekend at a ‘casita’ in Mexico to anyone who wanted to come. Best vacation ever.

Have you ever had a secret admirer? If I knew, wouldn’t they just be an ‘admirer’? Now if you’re talking ‘anonymous’ admirer…

Are you related to anyone famous? I’m famous for not recognizing famous people. In college I was asked to escort someone to a green room in the theater I worked for. Dude was nice, I asked him what he did, and, a bit befuddled he said, ‘I sing.’ Later my boss asked me how I liked meeting Donny Osmond. I was like ‘Who’s Donny Osmond?’

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? About an hour. I love it though. It is time where I get to listen to books, podcasts, etc. I learn during this time every day, and wouldn’t trade it.

What’s your favorite movie? Indiana Jones & The Raiders of the Lost Ark. This movie is just delightful and feels timeless. Indiana Jones is the best character ever created in my opinion. He is resourceful, funny, and attractive. The supporting cast is fantastic as well. I always identified with Marion Ravenwood. Sallah always seemed like someone I just want to hang out with. It’s just a winner of a movie.

What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee? Ryan Reynolds. The reasons should be obvious. He is funny and maybe the most attractive person in the world.

If money was no object, what would you do all day? Travel the world with the fam eating at the most delicious restaurants in-between biking, surfing, snowboarding, and climbing adventures.

Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Bike.

What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Had children.

If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work? I’d hire out the cleaning, at the end of the day if something is clean it’s yes/no without much creative expression in the final result. Cooking and yard work give you a chance to communicate something.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert? I think a lot of people get this backwards. The appropriate thought exercise for this is whether you get energy from being around people, or being by yourself. In that context I’m an introvert for sure.

Who was your first crush? Kelly Kapowski. I was 7 when they started Saved by the Bell and 12 (14 if you include the college years) when it ended. Those were formative years man, formative years.

What is the last book you read? The Overstory. You’ll savor how each sentence contributes to the fractal of the story told from both a deeply human and not entirely dispassionate perspective of trees.

Are you a clean or messy person? Both! I bring order from chaos. I find similar joy in the chaos of creative pursuits.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? I’d settle for Matt Damon if Russell Brand is booked.

What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most? I bounce between NPR and oldies–we used to have a station that played a lot of MoTown. I was sad when that one went away and I have yet to find an adequate replacement.

What kitchen appliance do you use every day? I’m the designated dishwasher in our family. After dinner and after the kids are in bed I throw an audio book on the headphones and clean up. That’s my wind-down time.

Who was your favorite teacher in school and why? Mr. H, AP Politics and European History. He mastered the art of just the right amount of sarcasm for high school kids, chaperoned two trips to NYC, and pushed me to see world events through a bigger lens.

What is your favorite book to read? I am an avid reader and spend a lot of time learning/reading about Conspiracy Theories. One book I love to read is Behold a Pale Horse. Proceed with caution if you want to read it. It’s full of conspiracies from True Crime to Aliens. My favorite book though is, “The Great Gatsby”.

What makes you laugh the most? I absolutely cannot handle when people fall over. Slip on the ice (pending no severe injuries), general tripping, just falling over on their own, I just lose it. I can’t even help you get up because I am laughing so hard.

What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play? HUGE Jazz and Packers fan. I watch as many games as I possibly can. Go Pack Go!

What are your hobbies? I’m an avid gamer. Video games, board games, tabletop games, you name it. I run Dungeons and Dragons games for both friends and family usually once a week. I’m all about strategy and problem solving even in my free time!

Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion? Capes and cloaks. I mean, who doesn’t want to wear the Elven Cloaks of Lorien or a fancy Victorian era cape around town? Coats are just so boring. No panache.

What do you do to keep fit? Walking and playing with our dog. She has so much energy and loves to run around, play fetch, and explore!

Would you rather trade intelligence for looks or looks for intelligence? In reality very few of us get better looking as we age, so in essence we’re all trading looks for intelligence. Just some of us are giving up more than we’re getting in return.

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?Warning: Jared doesn’t show much emotion. Generally he’s pleasant to be around. You’ll know it if he’s upset.

What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten? I went to China in 2013 with my wife and we wanted to check out this street fair they had so we walked down the street trying as much of the food as we could. There was a cart that was selling stinky tofu (at least that what I think it was), which was terrible.
